Early Tarot Journey and Psychic Discovery

How did you first get started with Tarot and your psychic work?

My name is Kate May and I a Tarot Psychic medium, tutor and Feng Shui consultant. Bringing your inner and outer worlds together.

I first got into Tarot by accident with just an interest. I had my first deck at around 15 .At school I was able to “guess” friend’s zodiac, which was a bit of a party trick. At around 16, I started working for a lovely couple doing astrology readings down our local pier. The lady told me I would marry twice and work in America. I didn’t believe her, and when I moved to Spain some years later, I thought she may have got the country wrong!

In my 30’s I gave up my career in management to be a stay-at-home mum to my boys. It was during this time; my cards came alive! I went to a toddler group and was invited to do beauty treatments (I was a qualified beauty therapist) to the mums while the children played. I bought in my flyers and the lady running the group noticed I was reiki trained, which she also was. She told me she had angel cards, and I said I had tarot, so we bought them in and started to give readings on the other mums. Soon after we were being booked weekly for parties. During my 40’s I met my second husband, also medium taking us to America and different parts of the U.K for work. The lady all those years ago turned out to be right. Not only that but about 5 years ago in a chance conversation we found out that she was in fact my new mother-in-law, my seconds husbands’ mother! It had been 30 years, so we did not recognise each other!

Building a Global Psychic and Tarot Career

How has your psychic career grown over the years?

In the last 20 years since starting out my business has grown world-wide; I have written several books and published a couple of decks. I have worked on psychic cruises, wrote for many magazines and also worked for a few years in the well-known store Selfridges in London for the psychic sisters.

For the last 8 years I have had my own coffee shop selling cards and crystals and coffee! From here I do my readings and teachings.

Tarot Reading Style, Clairvoyance, and Client Guidance

How would you describe your reading style and approach with clients?

My style is very grounded, and to the point. With my feng shui knowledge I am also able to not just give predictions, insight and clarity but also practical guidance on what clients can do to help themselves further. I find this really helps clients have personnel responsibility and take back control in their lives to improve their situations and work on what they want to create a better more abundant life. I give them the tools they need. My strength is clairvoyance. I can see what’s coming up for people, this gives them insight but also free will to make changes should they need to. The most important aspect of my services is to help people into a better position, to support them and into taking back control and help prevent them making big costly mistakes.

6 months before lock down I was looking at expanding shops, I found a larger premises and did the figures. All was good. Then I did the cards. There was the tower, death card and 3 of swords so I pulled out based on them not my books. Fast forward those months and lockdown came in. The tower! I had to shut my shop 3 of swords and the death card. Luckily it was only temp and I got a lot of help from the Gov for small business support. Had I taken the other shop due to its size and relocation I would have got £ 0. And been left with a huge monthly bill, no customers and probably got into some series debt. The cards saved me from making a big costly mistake.

Although I am not a fluffy reader, I am very empathetic and can navigate how to deliver what needs to be. The art in being a great tarot reader is not just knowing the cards but delivery. I pride myself on this as it is very important for clients to feel save supported and guided correctly.
